Train a new employee with apprenticeship

An apprenticeship contract can be used to train new experts for the needs of the company, or to develop the skills of the personnel. An apprenticeship contract can be used to study upper secondary qualifications or parts of qualifications. The studies take place at the workplace, in addition to which theoretical studies can be completed at an educational institution.

In an apprenticeship contract, the student is in an employment relationship and is paid a salary. Students usually look for apprenticeship positions themselves, but the employer can also apply for an employee to be trained as an apprentice.

Find new employees through labour market training

With labour market training, it is possible to train experts to meet the workforce needs of one or more companies. Labour market training is a good way to recruit new employees or develop the skills of personnel. Labour market training is typically organized for sectors that have a shortage of skilled labour.

Labour market training can be organized in cooperation between the Päijät-Häme Employment Services and the employer, in which case the employer is involved throughout the process. The employer gets to choose the people who will participate in the training and who may possibly be hired later for the workplace.
